Axis Mundi.
In various cultures and at different times, the Axis Mundi concept has surfaced as a form of
cosmic context. The axis of the universe is symbolised by a tree, a pole, a ladder, and even by
two entwined snakes. Standing at the very centre of the world. A connection between heaven
        and earth.
Axis Mundi defines the world; creates form and order in space through its presence and an
opening towards the "worlds beyond". Cosmos instead os chaos.

50 years ago, decades of research on the structure of DNA came together in the idea of the
double helix. Since then, scientists have tried to explore and grasp the significance of this
        discovery.
The spiral - the double helix, spontaneously appeals to many people - maybe because we know even
more than we are aware of. In anthropology, a theory has been put forward: that through a trance
state, shamans from certain cultures achieve a state of consciousness, which gives them an
insight into the molecular structure of plants. One possible explanation for why the Indians of the
Amazon know exactly wich plants to use for medicinal purposes.

Quite a staggering idea, to think that for thousands of years there have been natives on this planet
who have had a different way of comprehending DNA, than found in a laboratory.
